JWB Rental Homes enhances the living experience for over 1,000 residents with Group Rate Internet

Melissa Gillispie: I think the interest for us in Group Rate Internet was, this is a service everyone needs. So whether they're getting Internet from somewhere else or through us, everybody needs Internet.

My name is Melissa Gillispie. I am the Director of Leasing and Property Management here at JWB in Jacksonville, Florida. We manage about five-thousand seven-hundred homes in the Northeast Florida area. You know, when we first started speaking with Second Nature about internet, we were hoping for about eighty percent of our homes to have availability with one of the ISPs, and that has certainly shown to be the case, which is cool. We probably have about between seven-hundred fifty and one thousand enrollments. It was to me just a no brainer opportunity to provide a value to our residents.

Ebelyn Megowan: Typically, whenever you're getting internet set up, it's a hassle.

You're having to call an internet service provider. You're locking in a contract, but honestly, sometimes they can up the price after a couple months versus this, it is a fixed price. You are paying it to your property management company. You're only in contact if you're having a technical issue with a direct internet provider, so it's a huge win.

Shaylin Williams: I do move-in calls for our residents one week in. And my first question to them after, you know, “How was your experience?” is, “Did you get your internet set up? How was that process?” And they are ecstatic.

It's one less thing I have to do. When you're moving in, you're unloading boxes, you're navigating this and that. Just to have the peace of mind that you can walk in the home and oftentimes within a couple of days, your internet is already set up, it makes the residents' lives easier.

Ebelyn Megowan: The main things I hear back are amazing things, amazing feedback. Residents are very happy that their internet is getting set up within days of moving in. It is really affordable compared to retail price out there.

Melissa Gillispie: I think our goals in rolling out internet were very similar to rolling out our previous RBP efforts; with full adoption for anyone and everyone who was eligible for internet. So if the property has internet availability and in our system we say we're wanting to provide internet, that there would be largely one hundred percent adoption success.
